Membasuh
Honestly, I’m not a loyal listener of Hindia songs. What I know is that the musician behind Hindia name is one of the members of the Feast Band. However, for one of the Hindia songs entitled “Membasuh”, I’d like to express my appreciation for the composition of the lyrics and music, which made me repeat the official music video on YouTube, put on a headset to listen to the song more clearly, and slowly interpret each song’s lyrics while I’m falling in love at the same time. The language style and way of writing the lyrics of this song brought back my memory of Banda Neira’s songs. And there’s no need to doubt, obviously, this song is officially a project from Hindia featuring Rara Sekar, ex-Banda Neira personnel. So through this writing, I hope it can be a form of expressing my gratitude for this work because, again, this song really makes an impression on me, especially the simple values, which we as humans usually ignore and forget.
This song begins with the character of a human being who always has selfish tendencies. Basically, we all more or less always expect a return for what we have given to the world, whether in the form of time, energy, or material things, which are of course part of a sacrifice. And for me, it’s natural that we are often disappointed when what we have given is not commensurate with what we receive. But the question arises, is it true that all the things we have given must be returned to us in the same amount and form? Is it true that good intentions will always be rewarded with kindness?
The answer is, of course, no. The fact is that the world doesn’t work that simply. Life is so complex, with all of the chaos that exists, that it gives rise to hope that makes us continue to feel alive. And life is not about getting what we have given to this world, but life is about giving something without hoping that what we give will come back to us. As humans, it is natural for us to be too busy thinking about many complicated things and too focused on one important thing, such as trying to pursue our dreams. So sometimes we never realize that there are actually so many things in this universe that work to provide us with what we have planted, only in different forms and quantities, or even more. A wise man once said that life is not as simple as human mathematics.
Continuing about giving. This song also teaches us to be able to forgive regardless of the mistakes that other people have made toward us in the past. And provide help to others, even though the wounds we have may not have healed completely. It sounds unrealistic, and it seems so difficult to do this. But for me, if this is the answer to all happiness, then there is nothing wrong if we try to do it.
One thing we need to realize is that, after all, we are social creatures who can never live alone. In fact, we still need each other. It’s as simple as communicating, telling stories, listening, and conveying. This need seems like a simple thing that feels like it can keep our minds sane amidst the many problems that exist in life. All the people who surround us, who have shaped us, where we have grown to become individuals and reached a point we never expected, is one of the small things that we should be grateful for and never forget.
Repeating all the good things that have been conveyed in the song conveys, in essence, the meaning of life, and true happiness will only be found through the kind things we do for others. There is no need to care about what will come back to us later, what is certain is that the universe will work as a mirror, reflecting all the things we have planted in different forms and quantities. Like a tree, it starts from a seed in the ground, grows, and produces fruit with far more value than what we planted at the beginning.
Mengering sumurku, terisi kembali. kutemukan makna hidupku di sini.
